Windfall, Alberta

There stands a forget me not town
with homes now houses fallen down,
a sign post and a tower tall
but there's nobody left in Windfall.

According to Wikipedia, Windfall Alberta once boasted a healthy population of 101 residents in the early 60's, however the draw of nearby Whitecourt soon left the small town empty. Family homes and cottages were trucked out to new lots in Fox Creek. Although the signs for Windfall still remain along Hwy 43 the only sign of life is a gas plant now operated by Husky Oil.
